AIA San Francisco is excited to announce a new series of lunchtime Project Delivery Salons, to kick off our initiative to build a local chapter AIASF Project Delivery Knowledge Community.
Project Delivery plays a key role in the design and documentation process — it is the translation of the design ideas into documents that can be communicated to consultant team members, that can be bid by contractors and that form the legal contract documents for the contracts with owners and builders.
The Salon series will explore Architect/Owner/Contractor experiences as well as ideas and future visions for the way we deliver projects.

Project Delivery Salon #1: From Concept to Construction
Thursday, June 20 // 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Join us for the first of three Salons where we will review some of the fundamentals of project delivery. We will explore how an architect sees the production, how a contractor interprets and dissects the architect's drawings and specifications, and the experience and expectations of the owner in this process. We will explore and discuss risks, and opportunities for collaboration. We invite audience interaction and welcome questions throughout the program.
We will be joined by Jonathan Coates, Senior Project Director for Kitchell CEM, an industry professional with more than 32 years of experience in providing construction management solutions for various client types and construction teams; Keith Boswell, FAIA, Consulting Partner, SOM; Sara Doran, AIA, who worked for 10 years as a project developer and Owner first with Maximus at Park Merced, then with Wilson Meany on the Yerba Buena Island development, and by Greg Bonderud, Director of Preconstruction and head of Estimating at Plant Construction. AIASF Board Member Carsten Voecker, AIA, DBIA, Vice President at Plant Construction will moderate this conversation.
Project Delivery Salon #2: Integrated Approaches to Project Delivery
