SUMMARY:Design Tech Meetup: What's New in Construction Tech
DESCRIPTION:Digital construction technology is a growing and invaluable resource for designers as well as builders. Join three experts in construction tech for a lively presentation and discussion focusing on emerging digital tools to improve the construction process. \nREGISTER HERE \n  \n\nLearning Objectives\n\nLink real-time design tools seamlessly into the construction phase;\nIntegrate robotics into the construction process;\nUnify digital metrology into site layout automation;\nLeverage synergies between BIM\, VR\, and robotics\n\n  \n\nAbout the Presenters\nAs the Director of Construction Automation at Assembly OSM\, Noni Pittenger is focused on applied robotics\, automation\, and metrology systems in construction. She has planned\, managed\, and scaled construction automation processes for Tesla\, WeWork\, and CW Keller & Associates. Her work in digital layout automation as a Technology Researcher in Residence at Autodesk’s Pier 9 for CW Keller won a 2019 AIA Innovation Award for Design Development/Design Thinking. Her independent R+D practice has received two Federal Small Business Innovation Research grants for work in construction and manufacturing solutions. \nBrian Ringley is a construction technologist at Boston Dynamics where he manages autonomy product development for Spot’s dynamic sensing capabilities in changing environments like construction sites. Before coming to Boston Dynamics\, he was a construction automation researcher in commercial real estate where he piloted emerging construction robotics products and stood up a factory for the industrialized construction of office space. \nGabriele Sorrentois a Director at Vection Technologies\, a 360° partner helping leading enterprises like Arup\, Perkins&Wills\, and Zaha Hadid Architects boost their design cycle with real-time software. Gabriele became passionate about computational design at the age of 14. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Architectural Engineering at Polytechnic University of Milan and studied entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University as a Fulbright fellow. In 2014 he founded Mindesk\, with the goal of empowering CAD users with AR/VR technology. Today Gabriele is part of AIASF Design Technology Commission and leads the VRAR Association Silicon Valley chapter. \nREGISTER HERE
